Job Title: Health & Safety Advisor
Job Location: Bicester, Oxfordshire
Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Health and Safety Advisor. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering regional safety, health and environmental improvement across the company to ensure a safe working environment for all people affected by RM Contractors operations.
The Successful Applicant will:
- Meet the qualifications and experience requirements outlined below.
- Hold a full, clean driving licence.
- Hold a NEBOSH or Level 6 NVQ in Health & Safety
- Hold a valid CSCS Card
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Providing expert advice and support to site teams, construction management, and all company departments on HSEQ matters, including legislation, best practice, and innovation.
- Ensuring the company maintains up-to-date policies, procedures, and safety systems, including CHAS and Constructionline accreditations.
- Conducting regular HSEQ site inspections and audits, reporting findings and advising on improvements, working methods, and training needs.
- Investigating all accidents, incidents, and service strikes thoroughly from start to completion, and implement preventative measures.
- Supporting with the development and completion of Safe Systems of Work, including RAMS, Construction Phase Plans, and COSHH documentation.
- Liaising with clients, SHE representatives, regulatory bodies, and insurers to represent the company on HSEQ matters and address site-specific issues.
- Reviewing and enhancing site processes and procedures, offering improvement solutions where applicable.
- Supporting the pre-construction team in meeting SHE requirements for upcoming projects.
- Maintaining the competency database.
- Providing training, mentoring, and ongoing support to regional trainee health and safety advisors.
- Attending external meetings with clients and stakeholders, ensuring the company is positively represented in all HSEQ matters.
- Promoting a proactive and positive culture towards health, safety, environmental, and quality across the business.
Package
o Contract Type: Permanent
o Weekly Hours: 07:30am to 17:00pm (we are open to discussing reasonable adjustments)
o Holiday Allowance: 23 days plus bank holidays, with additional holiday based on service. For part-time employees, holiday entitlement will be calculated on a pro-rata basis
