Job Title: Commercial Apprentice

Job Location: Leicester & Bicester

Opportunity:

We are currently seeking two Commercial Apprentices for our regional surveying teams in Leicester and Bicester. They will work under the guidance and mentorship of experienced team members and learn the ropes of the role while supporting with the day-to-day commercial tasks, gaining hands-on experience, and gradually taking on more responsibility as their skills grow.


Key responsibilities include:
  • Helping the team with day-to-day admin tasks such as filing, photocopying, scanning, and updating records
  • Organising and preparing information packs for site and commercial teams
  • Supporting the Commercial team with basic cost tracking (such as logging invoices and checking figures)
  • Learn how materials and labour costs are priced in groundworks projects
  • Join site visits with the team to help collect paperwork and progress records
  • Learn how site information is fed back into the commercial process
  • Help maintain contact lists and organise paperwork for subcontractors and suppliers
  • Support the preparation of reports and summaries for the team
  • Learn about health, safety, and compliance requirements within a commercial role

The Successful Applicant will have:
  • English GCSE Grade 4/C, Level 2 Functional Skills, or equivalent
  • Mathematics GCSE Grade 4/C, Level 2 Functional Skills, or equivalent
  • Strong organisational skills and good time management
  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • The ability to take responsibility and get things done independently

Please note: Due to training provider requirements, applicants must be aged 18 or over at the start of the apprenticeship.


What We Offer:
  • A structured apprenticeship programme in Construction Quantity Surveying, leading to a Level 4 HNC qualification. You’ll gain experience through both on-the-job learning and off-the-job training. Depending on the training provider, this could include college day release, online workshops, and regular assessor visits.
  • A solid understanding of how a commercial team works in construction
  • Valuable administration and organisation skills that are useful in any career
  • Experience of both office and site environments
  • A clear progression path, with opportunities to take on more responsibility as you learn

 

Package

o   Contract Type: Apprentice

o   Weekly Hours: 07:30 - 17:00 (we are open to discussing reasonable adjustments)

o   Holiday Allowance: 23 days plus bank holidays, with additional holiday based on service
