Opportunity

We are now recruiting for a Class 2 Beavertail driver responsible for operating commercial vehicles used for transporting goods including, but not limited to, tarmac, plant, materials, machinery and aggregates between construction site locations; ensuring compliance with traffic laws and regulations, DVLA regulations, RM Contractors Health and Safety processes and tachograph regulations.

The Successful Applicant will:

• Have a strong understanding of, and compliance with, traffic laws and regulations.
• Have a good understanding of driver requirements and Health and Safety in relation to HGV driving.
• Have physical stamina and ability to lift loads as per role description.
• Have the ability to work independently.
• Be able to plan the most efficient routes for deliveries.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Safely driving a Beavertail vehicle to and from RM Contractors sites.
• Moving plant, materials, machinery and aggregates between building and construction sites and Head Office.
• Moving materials between locations.
• Loading and unloading materials at drop-off and collection points.
• Securing and strapping loads to the back of an HGV.
• Performing regular vehicle inspections and adherence to safety procedures and regulations.
• Following safety procedures and regulations.
• Performing daily safety inspections.  
• Ensuring up-to-date medical assessments and driving licence renewals where required by the DVLA.
